Pregnancy Update: 30 Weeks

28 Jan

30w0d30 weeks feels like a big milestone. It’s feeling more and more real everyday!

But with that excitement comes some not-so-fun pregnancy symptoms. I’m grateful to be healthy and mobile, and still think that this pregnancy is pretty smooth overall. But the pain in my pelvic/inner thigh area is getting worse. Now it feels like my hip joints are coming loose. Every time I roll over during the night or get up from sitting, I groan in pain. It hurts to lift my legs so putting pants on or drying off after a shower requires some creativity. I can only do a very slow grandma waddle and even a slight incline makes the pain worse. If the condition didn’t get worse, this would be totally bearable. I’m just a little nervous about having 10 weeks to go. Travis might have to start pushing me around in a wheelchair!

Other not-so-fun symptoms:

– acne on my face, back and chest (seriously sooo sick of this)

– acid reflux

– back pain

– swollen ankles (it’s starting…)

– sore feet

– braxton hicks contractions

– intense belly pain (apparently a form of round ligament pain)

– an increased appetite but smaller stomach (prompting many 3 a.m. snacks)

– no desire to cook, or sometimes even eat (I’m hungry but don’t feel like anything)

– CRAZY dreams (almost every night this past week, I had a full night’s dreams about something that had happened that day… people from work after a stressful day, interest rates and stocks after a meeting with our financial advisor, a package of airline peanuts Travis brought home from a work trip)

– pelvic pressure that makes it feel like I have to pee all. the. time.

– feeling out of breath/heart racing pretty often

Pregnancy is an experience, that’s for sure. But it’ll all be so very worth it and as long as I don’t have to be induced or go on bed rest, I’m a happy camper.

It helps that I have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of months. Or else it would feel like a very loooong 10 weeks.

This past weekend, Travis and I didn’t have anything scheduled so we tried to finish up some projects and chores around the house, spent Saturday afternoon lazing around and walking our dogs to the dog park, went to Zero Dark Thirty Saturday night (it was good!), and had movie night with friends last night. I had good intentions about blogging – there’s a draft just waiting to be published – but it didn’t happen. Hopefully I’ll post more this week. I actually have stuff to talk about!

Last Tuesday night, I went to a breastfeeding class. It was helpful, albeit a bit awkward to practice holding a baby to your chest with a bunch of men around. The only class we have left now is CPR and First Aid, which we rescheduled to take in March.

Travis finished the window in the nursery finally so everything in there is set, except for some pictures on the wall and a small table for next to the glider. I like to just stand in the doorway and imagine what it’ll feel like to have a real baby to put in there!

……………….

My workouts last week:

Su: 1.55 mile walk

M: 1.15 mile walk

T: 20 min prenatal yoga

W: 1.15 mile walk

Sa: 30 minute walk

As evidenced by all the walks I take, my dogs serve as my main motivator for exercise. Otherwise it would be very pitiful.

………………..

Symptoms: See above

Cravings: Anything sweet, specifically frozen yogurt

Weight gained: 1 lb this week (21 lbs total)

Rings on or off: On, but sometimes tight in the morning

Belly button in or out: Starting to poke out!

Stretch marks: None

11 days until I fly to Minnesota for my baby shower! And only 20 days until we leave for Florida! I can’t wait!

Pregnancy Update: 29 Weeks

22 Jan

20130120_091643We had our second (and final) childbirth class last Saturday. I am so glad we took the class. We learned a lot about the practices specific to the hospital and got to tour the labor/delivery and postpartum rooms. I am very excited to give birth there. Just 11 short weeks away! (give or take)

We also had a newborn care class last Thursday night. It was very informative, and we got to practice giving a doll a bath, changing its diapers, and swaddling.

Emma is definitely moving more often throughout the day and really gets going at night. Last night, I woke up around 4:30 and she was going crazy in there! I love it though. I’m so excited to meet her!

One more weekend left in January and then we’re into February – and it’s going to go fast because I have something going on every single weekend. The first weekend, I’m volunteering at my friends’ race and then it’s Super Bowl Sunday. The next weekend, I’m flying to Minnesota for a baby shower. The next weekend, we fly to Florida. And the last weekend in February, we come back from Florida. It’ll be a whirlwind but a fun one!

………………….

My workouts last week:

Su: 1.15 mile walk

M: 40 minutes prenatal yoga

W: 1.34 mile walk

Sa: 1.15 mile walk

…………………..

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, back pain, acne (SO ready for this to go away), still some pelvic/inner thigh achiness

Food cravings: ICE CREAM, also loving Mexican

Weight gained: 20 lbs total (no gain this week)

Belly button in or out? In, but very flat

Stretch marks? None so far!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Pregnancy Update: 28 Weeks

15 Jan

28w 0dI’m officially in the third trimester now! WOW.

Our first childbirth class on Saturday went well. I didn’t really learn anything new (since I’ve been reading up on the whole birth thing trying to figure out my desired approach) but it was helpful to practice relaxation techniques with Travis. We have the class again next Saturday and we get to tour the hospital, which I’m excited for.

On Sunday, we made some more progress on the nursery – we hung up the shelves that we bought at Ikea and I bought some picture frames for the wall. I’m also on the hunt for a poster to go in a frame I already have and think I decided to buy this one after Emma is born. So freakin’ cute. I’m a sucker for anything with birds.

Yesterday, I finally bought a maternity swimsuit for our Florida trip, a pair of maternity yoga pants and a cute ruffly tank from Target to hopefully wear for maternity pictures and a baby shower. I’m planning to ask my brother to take some maternity pictures for us while we’re down in Florida. I’m assuming he’ll say yes. 🙂 (I wasn’t sure if I wanted pictures or not, and this way they’re free! We’ll save our money for baby pictures.)

As far as the pregnancy itself goes, I’ve been having A LOT of Braxton Hicks contractions this week. Like probably one an hour on average. They don’t hurt but they are noticeable – it’s like my stomach gets really upset for a minute or so. Which makes me wonder that maybe what I thought was Emma moving back during weeks 15-18ish were really Braxton Hicks? Because it’s the exact same feeling, and completely different from her kicking. Kicking is a good sensation! A contraction is not.

I also think Emma went through a growth spurt because I’ve been having a lot of round ligament pain in my lower belly, I feel like my belly is HUGE this week, and I gained 2 lbs in a week, which hasn’t been the trend.

Last week’s workouts were pretty much non-existent, due to our trip to MN. I’m back on it this week.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks contractions, increased body temp (yay!)
Food cravings: Chocolate, FROYO, ice cream
Weight gained: 20 lbs total (2 lbs this week)

Back at it

11 Jan

We’re back from Minnesota. It was a good trip. The Focus got us to Minnesota, we stayed in a nice hotel on Tuesday night in Grand Island, Nebraska, and I got to re-meet a lot of Travis’ relatives that I briefly met at our wedding (and couldn’t remember…). As far as traveling while pregnant, my only complaint is that I need my own bed and body pillow to sleep decently well. After 10 hours of sleep last night, I’m still pooped today. It was worth it though. (Now I just have to figure out how to bring my body pillow to Florida…)

I finally had a stranger comment on me being pregnant! We were at the airport going through security and the guy behind me was like, “Whoa, so are you like due really soon?” I told him I was due in April and he said, “So you can tell your kid that you took them through airport security.” Yep. It’s not the first time, and (if all goes according to plan) it won’t be the last.

Tomorrow is our first childbirth class! We’re both really excited, but bummed that it will overlap with the Broncos playoff game. We’ll still be able to see the end of it though, so at least we won’t miss the whole thing. (And worse case, we could just DVR it.)

Anyway, have a great weekend! I’ll be back on Monday with a third trimester pregnancy update!

Pregnancy Update: 27 Weeks

8 Jan

27w 0dLast week of the 2nd trimester! My due date was 3 months from yesterday. So exciting!

I took my glucose test last Thursday morning and got the results back Friday afternoon. My glucose and hemoglobin levels are normal, meaning I don’t have gestational diabetes or anemia. I was very glad to hear that! So I’m pretty much back to normal with my eating and exercise habits. I’ll do a post soon about how it’s going eating intuitively while pregnant. I also have a post in the works about the prenatal workout videos I’ve tried.

My back had been hurting a lot at night until I discovered that when I was laying directly on my side, I’d end up tilting slightly backward while I was sleeping – putting my back at a very awkward, painful angle. As soon as I started intentionally tilting slightly forward onto my body pillow, my back stopped hurting. I’ve also tried putting my arm behind me, instead of laying on it. At first, I thought it would be horribly uncomfortable but it gives my poor cramped collarbone a nice break.

So my sleep this past week has been pretty decent. I still wake up every hour or two to switch sides, and I still have some crazy dreams, but overall, it’s not too bad. I do lay on my back for a minute or so every once in a while and it’s like sinking into a cup of warm pudding. Ahhh…

I’m flying back to Minnesota for my baby shower the weekend of February 9 & 10 and just bought my plane ticket this past week. It was only $150! That is the best ticket price we’ve seen in years, maybe ever, from Denver to Minneapolis. And it’s on Southwest, which means I get to check 2 free bags (for bringing gifts back)! I’m so excited.

We’re actually making another impromptu trip to Minnesota today for a reason that’s not so happy – Travis’ grandma passed away and we’re going to back for the visitation and funeral, which are Wednesday night and Thursday morning. We’re driving our old Focus back to give to Travis’ brother and then we’re flying back to Denver on Thursday night. It’ll be a short trip, but I’m glad we can make it.

……………………

My workouts for last week:

Su: 1.15 mile walk

M: 40 minutes Prenatal Fitness Fix video

T: 1.55 mile walk

Th: 30 minutes elliptical

F: 1.15 mile walk

Sa: 1.15 mile walk

My pelvic/inner thigh pain was ridiculous on Friday – I assume from doing the elliptical (since your legs are going different directions the whole time, which I’ve read aggravates this kind of pain). I had to jog across the road as a car was coming on my walk with the dogs Friday morning and that solidified that my pregnant jogging days are over. I’m going to stick to walking, workout videos, and hopefully start doing some swimming (need to buy a suit first). I am enjoying this whole “light intensity exercise” thing but I’m really looking forward to getting back into running!

…………………

Mixing it up a bit this week…

Maternity clothes? Pants are all maternity, except for a few pairs of workout/pajama pants. Tops are 90% maternity – I still have a few pre-pregnancy tops that are long enough, and I still wear my cardigans.
Stretch marks? None
Symptoms: Pelvic/inner thigh pain, some heartburn, backache
Best moment this week: Went to Ikea (for the first time in Denver) and bought gray shelves for the nursery
Miss Anything?  sleeping on my stomach/back, wine, running
Movement: Lots of kicking! Mostly in the middle of the night
Food cravings: Chocolate still! There’s a box of chocolates sitting in my hall at work and I probably eat at least 3 a day. So hard to resist!
Weight gained: 18 lbs total (1 lb this week)
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No labor signs, but I’ve been having Braxton Hicks contractions during the night
Belly Button in or out? It’s getting flatter every day
Mood: Frequently annoyed at the world over little stuff, but overall, I’m happy and excited
Looking forward to:  Childbirth classes starting this weekend
What I am NOT looking forward to: Having the pelvic pain get worse, 13 more weeks of sleeping on my side
Milestones: Last week of the 2nd trimester!

Pregnancy Update: 26 Weeks

31 Dec

26w 1d 002I’m working from home in my PJ’s today!

I had my most recent prenatal checkup last Friday morning and completely expected it to go exactly how the others have – the doctor says everything looks good and I come back in a month. Well, this appointment was a little different.

For every prenatal appointment until this one, the same very nice lady brings me back and weighs me, takes my blood pressure, all that good stuff. I got a different lady for this appointment and she was a little more gruff/disgruntled. Their computers were down that morning, so maybe that contributed to her attitude. Anyway, she sent me to the bathroom for a urine sample, then weighed me. After taking my blood pressure (and not telling me what it was), she ran her pee test and remarked numerous times about how much sugar was in my urine – ‘just a crazy amount.’ She asked what I had eaten for breakfast and feeling sheepish (since I had had 1/2 bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats and a big bowl of Rice Krispies), I just said, “Cereal,” and then added, “Probably not the most healthy breakfast ever.” To which she replied that ‘in her opinion, all cereal is just sugar.’ Because of the sugar in my urine, she pricked my finger to test my glucose level and when she got the result, said “Well, that’s not horrible.” And then sent me on my way to an exam room.

The doctor came in after a few minutes and asked if I had taken my gestational diabetes test (with the sugary drink). No, I had not. (Apparently, that was something they forgot to prepare me with at my last appointment.) She said I could come in before my next appointment and have my blood drawn after drinking the drink. Then she asked if I had any questions. I did have a few and after each, she quickly said that they were very common symptoms and nothing to be worried about. Once I was done with my questions, she reviewed my chart and said that my glucose level was 122, which wasn’t horrible but they liked to keep it below 140. Also, I should watch my weight gain since I had gained 9 lbs in a month, putting me at 22 total lbs gained with 14 weeks to go.

Say what?!?!?

My mind reeled with this information, since according to my own calculations, I had only gained 2 lbs in 4 weeks. At the time, I could only think to tell the doctor that on my home scale, I had only gained about 17 or 18 lbs total, not 22. She brushed that off and gave me the speech about hidden calories in juice and soda, how carbs can add lots of calories, I should add in light intensity exercise, yadda yadda. I brushed her off because I know all of that. What’s more, after going 2 weeks with gaining nothing (or so I thought?), I had been intentionally eating more.

It was like a twilight zone.

That appointment has bothered me more than I like to admit. I actually cried on my way home. There are several reasons why this bothers me – One, because I don’t think it’s true. Two, because I identify myself as a healthy person and this undermines that. Three, I had felt like I was eating healthier and being more active than earlier in my pregnancy and this made me feel like even that wasn’t enough. Four, I had finally gotten into the groove of intuitive eating and this situation has made me hyperaware of everything I’m eating and rife with guilt anytime I consume something sugary.

To get to the bottom of the situation, I weighed myself Saturday morning and my scale said exactly what I expected it to. I have gone around and around trying to figure out how our figures could be so off – not that I really care about the discrepancy of 5 lbs total but how in the world did they calculate me gaining 9 lbs in a month, when I only calculated 2? Maybe I stood on the scale weirdly and it read incorrectly? Maybe keeping my shoes on skewed the results? Maybe it was because they used a different scale this time? Maybe my scale at home is broken, even though it seems to give me accurate readings and has showed me gaining 2 lbs in the past 4 weeks?

I can think of a lot of explanations for the total lbs gained being off, but I can’t for the life of me figure how it could show me gaining 9 lbs in a month. It boggles my mind. For now, I’ll let it rest and hopefully my next prenatal appointment weighing will show that this scale was on crack on Friday.

As for the blood sugar, I am going to take the gestational diabetes test this Wednesday morning so you can be praying about that. I am going to let this whole situation encourage me to not eat as much sugar (I was going a little overboard there for a bit…) but I’m not going to freak out and start counting calories (because it makes me miserable).

The other interesting development this week has actually been in the works for the past several weeks. My inner thighs constantly feel like I’ve done 500 reps on the adductor machine. At first, it was only noticeable when I walked. I assumed that my Pilates video worked my inner thighs more than I realized, and that I was also more out of shape than I realized. But then Christmas came around and after 4 days of doing nothing much, my inner thighs still were really sore. They have gotten increasingly more sore over the past couple of weeks so now they hurt when I walk, get up from sitting, squat, pull pants on, get out of the car. I can’t even close a drawer with my leg anymore. I can’t say I’m excited for another 14 weeks of this. BUT once again, I’m thankful that my pregnancy has been fairly uneventful, and that my baby girl is still healthy and kicking up a storm.

……………………..

My workouts this past week were on the light side, due to Christmas and me not sleeping well:

Su: 1.15 mile walk

W: 12 minute walk

Th: 20 minutes prenatal Pilates

Sa: 1.7 mile walk

……………………..

Symptoms: Inner thigh/pelvic soreness, acne

Cravings: Chocolate

Weight Gain: 17 lbs total (o gain this week – according to MY scale)

Favorite Moment: Finishing up my nursery sewing projects (which I’ll post about soon)

Least Favorite Moment: Prenatal appointment

Looking Forward To: Our childbirth class in a week and a half!

Pregnancy Update: 25 Weeks

24 Dec

25w 0dI finally caved and bought some more maternity clothes. I found another pair of jeans at the used maternity store and then found a bunch of stuff at Ross – I got 4 shirts, 2 tanks, a pair each of pants, shorts and leggings, and 2 sweaters for just under $90. It’s nice having some more options. And the maternity shorts I found for our Florida vacation were only $3! I love finding good (cute) deals.

This week also made me realize that my workouts will not be the same until after this baby comes. I did 20 minutes of Pilates on Saturday morning and could barely move that night! It didn’t feel like I was working out that hard, but I guess I was? So I’m thinking that my running jogging days might also be behind me. My morning exhaustion hasn’t made me want to go out jogging anyway. I’m perfectly content doing a video in my nice warm living room.

……………………

My workouts this week:

Su: 1.55 mile walk

T: 20 min aerobics video + 10 min prenatal Pilates

W: 1.15 mile walk

Th: 1.15 mile walk

Sa: 20 minutes prenatal Pilates + 1.15 mile walk

…………………..

The most exciting thing about this past week has been that Emma is finally kicking up a storm! I feel her kick a bunch while I’m at work or sitting around, and Travis can even feel her kick from the outside. So fun! It’s a much more enjoyable feeling than the stomach churning I had before (though I’ve heard being kicked isn’t very comfortable the farther along you get).

I’m still having trouble sleeping – I don’t know if it’s that I’m not comfortable, or having weird dreams, or a combination. But it’s no fun. I am a complete zombie for the first couple of hours that I’m up each day.

Symptoms: baby kicks, acne, weird/random aches and pains

Cravings: CHOCOLATE. I have been wanting to eat sweets like there’s  no tomorrow.

Weight Gain: 17 lbs total (1 lb this week)

Favorite Moment: Feeling Emma kick!

Well, we’re off to Estes Park with some friends. Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Pregnancy Update: 24 Weeks

17 Dec

20121216_092827I’m 24 weeks – only 16 to go! (FOUR MONTHS!)

I’m tired. ::said in a whiny voice:: My attitude hasn’t been the greatest recently. Being tired brings out the worst in me. Despite my amazing night of sleep on Thursday, the past couple of nights have been very un-restful. I wake up a lot, have weird vivid dreams and just generally don’t sleep well. But I am trying to look at this as a way to practice being joyful and thankful even when circumstances are challenging. It’s a lesson I definitely need to learn (and will use a lot when the baby comes I’m sure)!

I am grateful for all the stuff I got done this weekend. We finished Christmas shopping/present making and Travis shipped all of our gifts today. I printed our Christmas cards and should be able to finish addressing them tonight or tomorrow. Travis put up our icicle lights outside. We had an impromptu lunch with my cousin and cousin-in-law who happened to be visiting from Minneapolis. And we picked up our nursery glider!

20121216_145911

20121216_145759Travis approves. I LOVE how the chair turned out! It’s dark gray and SO comfy. Can’t wait to spend many, many hours in that chair. We also got the nursery arranged with all of the furniture, so I was finally able to get some of my stuff organized. That feels good.

……………….

I stuck to my workout plan last week but didn’t run at all. I’m more motivated to go on a walk with the dogs after I’ve showered and woken up a bit.

M: 1.15 mile walk

T: 20 minutes prenatal aerobics + 10 minutes prenatal Pilates

W: 1.15 mile walk

Th: 30 minutes strength

F: 1.15 mile walk

………………..

Symptoms: Poor sleep, linea negra, feeling out of breath a lot

Cravings: I really want frozen yogurt sometime soon. I still love potatoes. And I really like rice too.

Aversions: I really don’t like red pasta sauce right now.

Weight Gained: 16 lbs total (1 lb this week!) I intentionally ate more this week and it worked!

Favorite Moment This Week: One night, as I was laying in bed, Emma kicked me several times in a row – with very noticeable kicks! That was cool. I’m looking forward to that happening more.

What I Miss: My old wardrobe. I need to buy some maternity tanks, since my long pre-pregnancy ones are finally getting too short.

Looking Forward To: A relaxing Christmas! Childbirth classes in January. And the month of February – between a baby shower and our trip to Florida, it’s going to be a fun month.

Pregnancy Update: 23 Weeks

10 Dec

IMG_4081_cropThis past weekend was a busy one. Friday night, Travis and I did some Christmas shopping after work.

On Saturday, I volunteered at another one of my friend’s races, the Fa La La 5K and 5M, which went well. Immediately after that, I headed home, changed and went to our church’s annual Women’s Christmas Tea. Over 200 women attended this year. It was crazy, but nice to see how the event has grown. Needless to say, I was so tired after the race that I didn’t feel much like socializing. I chatted with the ladies at my table and then went straight home afterward. After straightening things up a bit, Travis and I watched The Vow. I really liked that movie and cried quite a bit.

Sunday, Travis and I went to Panera before church. We’re trying to restart that tradition as much as we can before the baby comes. After church, we went to Babies R Us to look at carseats and strollers (Travis wanted to make sure he liked the ones I had picked out) and all the cute baby girl clothes! We bought some cute little bootie socks:

IMG_4096We’re waiting until after any baby showers to buy clothes, since that is the thing people love to buy the most (as I’ve observed from the 15 or so baby showers of friends that I’ve been to).

Then I got a prenatal massage, which was lovely. I have never liked having my feet massaged so much. After that, we worked on Christmas presents for a while (we’re making some this year) and then watched Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part 1 (we’re watching the whole Harry Potter series). I, like always, fell asleep during it so I’ll have to finish it up when Travis isn’t home. Since I read the books, I already know what happens but it’s fun watching the movies anyway.

Speaking of sleep, it has gone downhill a little more this week. I have to pee at least once every night, sometimes more. There were a few nights this week when I also had to get up and eat something because I was starving. They were nights that I had light dinners though, so I just need to be more intentional about having a snack before going to bed. And another not-so-nice development is that I have this pain at the top of my belly, right where my bra hits, that feels like a bruise or muscle tear. For a while, I’d have it at night and then it would go away during the day. But now, I have it at night and during the day. I think it’s just pain from things stretching out but I’ll ask my doctor about it during my appointment at the end of the month.

I’ve also noticed that my hips start to ache after laying on my side for so long at night. I still regularly wake up to find myself either sleeping on my back or my stomach. I roll to my side right away but I think it’s my body’s way of saying “Ok, enough already” to the whole side sleeping thing. I just found out today that my glider came in so maybe I’ll try sleeping in that instead of my bed… 😉 We’re going to go pick the chair up this weekend!

Another somewhat strange thing is that I didn’t gain any weight this past week either. I guess that’s my golden ticket to eating more!

…………….

I have finally gotten into a workout routine that I can stick with! Here was last week:

Su: 1.15 mile walk

M: 1.15 mile walk

T: 30 min prenatal Pilates

W: 2 mile wog

Th: 20 min strength (Denise Austin Fit n Firm Pregnancy DVD)

F: 1.15 mile walk

It feels great to be moving on a regular basis again, even if my lack of good sleep at night makes getting up early extremely hard.

………………

Symptoms: Belly pain, trouble sleeping

Cravings: Still deli subs, potatoes and wine. I cheated yesterday and had a non-toasted Tasty Turkey from Einstein’s. It was delicious.

Weight gain: 15 lbs

Favorite moment this week: Getting a surprise gift from Travis’ parents – a picture frame to hold an ultrasound!

What I Miss: I’m a broken record but I miss sleeping on my stomach, drinking alcohol and getting a good workout.

What I’m Looking Forward to: Getting our nursery glider and setting up the nursery more this weekend. (Ok, I know I said baby stuff would wait until after Christmas, but it’s seriously bugging me to have the room in disarray!)

Pregnancy Update: 22 Weeks

3 Dec

22w0d 002

20121202_083929

The belly from above

Some thoughts:

  • It’s getting harder to bend over in general as well as pull on pants. And when I do bend over, all the blood rushes to my head.
  • Many nights, I have vivid dreams related to things that happened during the day – sewing Christmas stockings, Travis working on the nursery window, Harry Potter, etc. It’s like my brain gets stuck on replay.
  • My bladder is the size of a grape. I pee pretty much every hour (when I’m drinking as much water as I should) but never very much at one time.
  • My cravings are back! Especially for salty things and any form of potatoes. I have never loved potatoes so much. I walked out of work Wednesday night and smelled French fries (how, I’m not sure). Immediately, I decided to have McDonald’s for dinner. But even with my less-than-healthy dinners, I didn’t gain at all this week — a result of being more active, I think. I gained 2 lbs the week of Thanksgiving so it was a good to have a non-gaining week and even it out.
  • I wogged 3 miles on Saturday. Between walking, slow jogging and the million stops that the dogs make to sniff/pee/poop, it took me 50 minutes. I was totally beat afterward. I think that’s a sign that 2 miles is more my speed right now.

Speaking of which, I had a very good week workout-wise:

W: 1.7 mile wog (walk/jog)

Th: 40 min strength

F: 1.7 mile wog

Sa: 3.04 mile wog

My plan right now is to exercise every weekday morning, with cardio (walk or wog) on M, W, F and strength on T and Th. I’ve been completely consistent so far!

Symptoms: A few close calls on leg cramps, but I’ve learned to stretch with my feet flexed. Still breaking out on my face (darn girl hormones!). And I feel out of breath fairly often. Sleep is decent – I have some good nights and some not-so-restful nights.

Cravings: Potatoes. Mexican Food. Ice Water.

Movement: Same as past weeks – nothing that really feels like a kick or punch.

Weight Gained: 15 lbs (same as last week)

Favorite Moment This Week: Finding out we’re having a baby girl!

What I Miss: Wine of course. And cold deli sandwiches. Having to warm the meat up is SO not the same! What I wouldn’t give for Erbert’s & Gerbert’s right now. Mmm… I told Travis “After I give birth, I want a glass of wine and a sub.” 😉

What I’m Looking Forward to: Christmas! I love this season. Baby stuff is on hold for the month of December.
